Eid Mubarak! - Water

Haven't posted any photos in a long while, so I have hundreds of them piling up . But as it is Eid, the celebration of the end of Ramadan, I shall post another something islamic I found on the net related to the miracle of water.





"It is He Who has created man from water: then has He established relationships of lineage and marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things). (The Noble Quran, 25:54)"

"And God has created every animal from water: of them there are some that creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs; and some that walk on four. God creates what He wills for verily God has power over all things. (The Noble Quran, 24:45)"


"Water makes up more than two thirds of the weight of the human body, and without it, humans would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body’s water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen. (Are you having trouble reading this? Drink up!) Mild dehydration is also one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue. An estimated seventy-five percent of Americans have mild, chronic dehydration. "Water is responsible for our survival as it prevents us from dying by poisons produced in our bodies. The metabolism in the human body results in the production of toxins and waste products, which are removed by the kidneys. In order for the kidneys to remove the wastes such as uric acid, urea and lactic acid, these wastes must be dissolved in water. Kidneys will be damaged if the wastes are not removed due to lack of water. Water helps in digestion and ±n metabolism. It acts as a medium for several chemical and enzymatic reactions that take place in the human body. Nutrients such as glucose, elemental ions, oxygen, etc. are carried to the living cells in organs by water through the blood. Our body temperature is regulated through perspiration by water. Perspiration removes excess heat and cools the body. The water we drink lubricates the joints. Those suffering from arthritis, or are athletically active or have chronic muskuloskeletal problems should drink enough water.

Even for breathing, water is required. In order to facilitate the intake of oxygen and excretion of carbon dioxide, our lungs must be moistened by water. When we exhale, we lose about one pint (1/2 liter) of liquid each day! Another 400 ml (about 1/2 liter) is lost in the form of perspiration."

University Fair downtown at the Convention Centre!

 
 
 
Yyup, this is my final year of high school, and i'm looking to move out into the REAL WORLD (im completely horrified) so I attended the University Fair in downtown Toronto this year. Gave away lots of free stuff, and hundreds and hundreds of pamphlets (I have probably half of them), and some interesting seminars.

Any advice on how to deal with leaving high school?
It's hard to realize that it's really over, I wish they still had a 5th year of highschool again (In the year 2000, they removed the OAC year or Grade thirteen from highschools in Ontario, causing a double cohort in universities... probably wasn't so pretty o_O)

Strange how kittens look all alien-like when they're wet

Re: This kitten was actually a stray that my dad picked up on the street. He was very young, still at an age where he should be dependant on the mother, but there was hope because my dad has a mother-cat and two older kittens. They didn't get along at first, the mom-cat hissed at him whenever he came near . But after a while, my dad's mom-cat accepted him, and let him nurse off of her.

But anyway, when we picked him up, he had been on the street for a while, he needed a good washing

Metal! . Here's some metally stuff I found around here, mostly rusted metal, but what the hell





Note to JP: I tried the coin thing, but either I don't have enough skill for it, or my camera is really crappy , cuz the results were.. okay, but mostly just blurred circles. You're going to have to show me how it's done
